Inside the ATMA Labels: Four Sonic Worlds, One Vision

When we founded ATMA Creative Universe in Barcelona in 2018, we knew from the beginning that a single label could not contain the full breadth of what we wanted to create. Electronic music is not one thing — it is a vast, multidimensional territory, and different corners of that territory require different homes.

This is why ATMA operates four distinct labels, each with its own identity, aesthetic, and community. Together, they form a coherent ecosystem. Separately, each one is a world unto itself.

ATMA Music Records is our flagship label — the home of our most polished, internationally-oriented electronic music productions. The sound of ATMA Music sits at the intersection of deep house, melodic techno, and ambient electronic: music that is simultaneously dancefloor-ready and deeply introspective.

What distinguishes ATMA Music releases is their production quality and their emotional depth. Every track released on the label goes through a rigorous development process — not just in terms of mixing and mastering, but in terms of artistic intention. We ask: does this track say something? Does it take the listener somewhere?

ATMA Music releases are distributed globally and have been supported by some of the most respected DJs and selectors in the underground electronic music community.

Māra Frequency is the label dedicated to the intersection of music and healing — ambient electronic, sound healing compositions, and music designed for meditation, yoga, and conscious experiences.

Named after the ancient Baltic goddess associated with fate, transformation, and the cycles of nature, Māra Frequency releases carry a distinctive quality of depth and stillness. This is music for the inner journey — for the moments between sleep and waking, for ceremony and ritual, for the spaces where ordinary consciousness softens and something deeper becomes accessible.

Mariana Salas is the creative director of Māra Frequency, and many of the label's releases incorporate her work with healing frequencies, plant music, and Reiki-informed sound design.

NIRṚTA takes its name from the Vedic deity of dissolution and transformation — the force that breaks down what no longer serves so that something new can emerge. The label's sound reflects this: darker, more hypnotic, more ritualistic than ATMA Music, with a focus on deep techno, industrial ambient, and the more shadowed dimensions of electronic music.

NIRṚTA releases are for the late-night hours, for the moments when the music needs to go somewhere primal and uncompromising. The label has developed a dedicated following among fans of underground techno and experimental electronic music.

Urban Ritual is perhaps our most conceptually distinctive label — dedicated to the idea that the sacred is not confined to temples and forests, but is present in the rhythms of city life, in the pulse of the street, in the convergence of cultures that defines contemporary urban experience.

The sound of Urban Ritual draws from a wide palette: Afro-house, tribal rhythms, global bass, and the rich sonic heritage of Barcelona's multicultural music scene. It is music that celebrates diversity, movement, and the extraordinary vitality of human beings finding connection through rhythm.
